We will begin the journey heading east, towards the town of Ensenada, located in the bay of the same name. From there, we’ll take a slight detour north to continue on to the Petrohué Waterfalls. Along the way, you will enjoy spectacular views of the Osorno Volcano and its lahars, as well as the ash left by the 2015 eruption of the Calbuco Volcano, and the powerful Petrohué River.
The Petrohué Waterfalls are a series of impressive cascades on the river of the same name, falling forcefully over volcanic rocks formed by various eruptive processes from the Osorno Volcano. In this area, you will have the chance to explore two short trails and access a viewpoint where you can appreciate the emerald-colored waters and the incredible power of the Petrohué River.
