Come and explore a trail that will take you to Cráter Rojo, an inactive crater known for its intense red color.
Our excursion begins with a drive to Osorno Volcano, where we will take the trail leading to Cráter Rojo, an inactive caldera adjacent to the volcano. Its characteristic red color comes from iron-rich sediments.
From the crater, we will enjoy breathtaking views of the Llanquihue Lake basin, its largest surrounding towns, and nearby volcanoes such as Calbuco, Yates, and Hornopirén. Along the way, we will discuss the area’s geology, the formation of the volcano, and the Llanquihue basin—known as the gateway to Patagonia.
